My Shadow Angel
 
Often, I find myself lost in the dark shadows.
 
I am so consumed with fear, I burst into a fit of rage. 
 
I can’t breathe. 
 
I make desperate life changing acts all to calm this knowing that everything is terribly wrong. 
 
I tear nails thru flesh trying to get out. 
 
I find myself living in this reality that only I understand. 
 
Completely alone.
 
I beg.
 
Help me Please, hopelessly to that which is not there. 
 
In this darkness there is only me and my despair. 
 
There is no light as no light can get in here.
 
In yet,
 
I breathe in…
 
The quiet movement becomes still.
 
I notice that which is outside of me. 
 
The scent as I breathe in.
 
The sounds around me.
 
The taste as I swallow.
 
The light touch of the air on my skin.
 
And the colors that dance before my eyes.
 
I am now lost in the colors of it all.
 
Time stops.
 
The colors in the darkness form my Shadow Angel.
 
I hear the voice of my old friend.
 
I feel a shower of calmness wash over me.
